Our Approach

OPTIMIZE, RESTORE & PROTECT

A Program Built Around How Your Brain Actually Works

At Insight Functional Health, we take a systems-based approach to care. Rather than chasing individual symptoms, we focus on identifying and correcting the key drivers that influence how your body functions as a whole.

“You can’t understand a system by breaking it down into parts. You must understand how the parts interact." — Russell Ackoff

Cognitive decline is rarely caused by a single factor. Our program identifies and addresses the interconnected drivers — metabolic, inflammatory, hormonal, and beyond — that influence how your brain functions.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Six Pillars of Coordinated Care for Brain Health Optimization

① Physician-Led Precision Medicine Care

Comprehensive evaluation, advanced lab and genomic testing, personalized treatment recommendations, and ongoing physician oversight to refine your plan over time.

Comprehensive initial evaluation
Advanced laboratory and genomic review
Ongoing interpretation of biomarkers and progress trends
Personalized treatment recommendations
Medication, supplement, and lifestyle optimization
Regular follow-up visits to refine the plan over time

② Health Coaching & Lifestyle Implementation

Structured support across the pillars that drive brain health — nutrition, sleep, movement, stress resilience, and cognitive engagement — with real accountability to help changes stick.

Nutrition and metabolic health
Sleep and circadian rhythm
Movement and exercise
Stress resilience and nervous system regulation
Cognitive engagement
Environmental health
Social connection and purpose

③ Brain Health Technician Support

Hands-on guidance with neurocognitive training tools, cognitive testing, photobiomodulation, and metabolic monitoring.

Cognitive testing and reassessment
Body composition and grip strength measurements
Brain Gauge sensory-cognitive testing
BrainHQ cognitive training setup and support
Neuronic photobiomodulation treatment
Ketone and metabolic monitoring support
Ongoing troubleshooting and adherence support

④ Group Support, Caregiver & Family Integration

Cognitive decline affects the whole family, not just the individual. Caregivers and support partners are encouraged to participate and receive access to the same educational and support resources.

Group health coaching sessions
Caregiver support sessions
Core wellness education and Q&A sessions
An online member community
A growing education library with practical implementation resources

⑤ Objective Progress Tracking

Clear metrics rather than relying solely on subjective symptoms. Formal reassessments occur approximately every 3 months to guide adjustments and evaluate progress over time.

Cognitive testing — MoCA, CNS Vital Signs
Brain processing and sensory testing
Body composition and grip strength measurements
Metabolic biomarkers — ketone and glucose trends
TruNeura platform for longitudinal data tracking
Functional and symptom-based assessments

⑥ Collaborative Learning & Ongoing Clinical Development

Our program is informed by ongoing collaboration with clinicians and researchers actively working in the field of cognitive decline and neurodegenerative disease — so your care reflects the latest real-world evidence, not yesterday's standard of practice.

Weekly clinical mastermind with physicians across the country
Expanding access to Bredesen-style precision medicine approaches
Led by Kristine Burke, MD — Medical Director, True Health Center for Precision Medicine
Connected to the Evanthea trial — the first randomized placebo-controlled trial showing improvements in cognitive function
Continuously refined based on emerging evidence and shared case-based learning

INSIGHT FUNCTIONAL HEALTH

Meet Dr. Anna Sattah

A physician who left the ICU to help people sooner

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Sattah cared for countless patients who felt lost in their symptoms and overlooked by traditional medicine. Seeing their struggles sparked a realization: people needed deeper answers, not just quick fixes.

That insight led her to functional medicine, where she found a more complete way to uncover what’s really driving fatigue, brain fog, and chronic inflammation.

Today, Dr. Sattah combines her critical-care experience with a compassionate, whole-person approach. She helps patients who feel unwell despite normal labs and want to protect their long-term health, guiding them toward clarity, healing, and a renewed sense of hope.

At Insight Functional Health, we use an integrative, precision-based approach to identify and address the root causes of cognitive decline — from inflammation and insulin resistance to mitochondrial, hormonal, and toxin-related pathways that impact brain health.

Our work builds on the Dale Bredesen's framework and the latest findings from TruNeura, a program developed under the mentorship of Dr. Kristine Burke, a nationally recognized leader in cognitive optimization. This model combines advanced lab interpretation, functional genomics, targeted lifestyle strategies, and health coaching to help stabilize and, in many cases, reverse cognitive decline.
